Recycle fabric to make your own paper

Making your own paper is a wonderful way to enhance your block printing designs and projects. Paper making is actually far easier than you may think it is, and on the Colouricious website we have some instructional videos of artists making paper from all sorts of different materials including Jonathan Korejko, who uses old discarded threads and remnants of cotton to make his beautiful paper.

Click on the picture below to see how Jonathan makes his paper.

Hand made paper is perfect to block print on and we have some lovely new blocks in stock. We have some wonderful bumper sets of elephant, butterfly and peacock blocks all of which are excellent value for money and on sale while stocks last.
Have a look at Jonathan’s website – he runs the most fabulous paper making workshops and has a great teaching style. Book him for your group!

If you have never been to the Houston Quilt Show, then this really is an amazing experience. Think about the Festival of Quilts Birmingham times 10! It is huge. There are more workshops than you can count. More retail stands that you imagine possible. More quilts on exhibit that you thought were humanly possible. The Exhibition itself is divided into a large number of categories. This quilt show is like nothing you will ever see anywhere and is a must once in your life! You can come alone, with me or come with a friend. You could ask your quilting or embroidery group to come too. Whatever you want you can have! I am going to sell my block printing supplies and would really love you to come too. All you have to do is download the Houston Quilt Show booking form on the website and we will do the rest for you. Simply meet up at Heathrow airport and off we go! A really special treat for anyone who loves new ideas, inspiration, meeting new people and miles of quilts! If you need to speak to me first, do ring me on 01494 721 471 – do not leave a message if I do not pick up – just email me with your question. Would love you to come too!

If you would like to organise a tour of your area whichever country you are in, I would love to come and teach you block printing techniques. Just email me with your wishes and I will do my best to make them come true!
